Perspective is an interesting thing. It helps us in making choices. Sometimes our choice between two alternatives is hard to make. But sometimes we are faced with options where the best choice seems obvious. In our daily lives as children of God we are often faced with such decions that should be obvious, but yet we struggle to make that right choice. As Pr. Nathanael Fawcett wraps up his study of Psalm 86. King David is presenting himself with a choice which seems to have an obvious answer. Faith in God on one side, or panic, fear, struggle and worry on the other. When faced with what life deals, what will we chose? What keeps us from making the easy choice?

King David is running for his life. He is in desperate need of intervention from God. For the last three weeks, Pr. Nathanael continues to study Psalm 86, specifically verses 8-10, to understand more about God as "The Helper."

Looking for answers from God during a difficult time? Our current world situation might find you in in prayer, in fear, in anguish. Know that you are not alone. Just like in our prayers today, it seems like King David has repeating prayers for God´s help. David was powerful, influential, wealthy and famous. It seems he should have it all. Yet, we find that he was not immune to life´s problems. In Psalm 86 we find him pouring out his soul in desperation. This psalm is a personal prayer of one individual. However, we can still understand more of the character of God and Biblical principles from what David shares. Pr. Nathanael Fawcett looks at verses 1-7, the first section of verses, calling them "The Cry for Help." where he looks at David´s requests, the foundation of each one, and the theme that each communications.

It´s Holy Week - from Palm Sunday, through the last supper and crucifixion, to the glorious empty tomb of Easter. The identity of someone who does something matters. In focusing on identity, Pr. Nathanael looks at the question, "Who died on the cross?" Why does it matter that he was the one who died? All four writers of the gospel account answer this question with a view of the triumphal entry.
