The characteristics of the eternal God and creator of the universe can be seen in the Bible as He reveals Himself-specifically here in the story of Moses and the Exodus. God did not create the world and humans and then sit on the sidelines to watch. He is not distant. He also is not in need of humans to make His plans work-He can do that all by Himself. In fact, we see here that God comes in a personal way and is involved in history, and chooses to use humans for the purpose of building relationship. Today we see that in this relationship God calls our attention, He speaks and communicates to us, and He also commissions us to participate in His will.
